The big reveal...
When I was pregnant with Molly, everyone had a guess as to what we were having. Most people said we were having a boy. In fact, one woman in the Seattle airport told me she thought we were having a girl. She was the only person who guessed right. I had an inkling we might be having a girl, but that was more of what I wanted than what I really thought we were having.
This time has been no different. In fact, a few days before our ultrasound we polled some of our family members to see what people thought. Here were the results:
The majority of the votes were for: 1 boy and 1 girl. One vote came in for 2 boys and one vote for 2 girls. People were even giving suggestions as to what we should call our son and daughter twin combo: Janie and Jack, Dennis and Denise (you can guess who suggested that one), Jack and Jill, and the list went on.
We decided to share our news by wrapping two outfits that showed what genders we were having. Those we were with got to open that cute gift and unwrap each outfit, revealing what we were having. It was so much fun to see the different and excited reactions of others as they found out the news! I am so glad we waited to share it in person!
Since I cannot have each of you open our fun "gift" I will share it with you through a picture. Enjoy our news and give great thanks with us!!

I have to say it even though it's clearly obvious. We're having 2 girls!! I still cannot believe it and I think the news will take some time to sink in. It's been so fun knowing and I can see why people find out the gender ahead of time. What an exciting time x's two!!
Oh and I have to tell you that the one vote for two girls was my older sister, Ashley. She was so pleased to have "won" the competition especially since she's the mother of 5 boys!!

I love the little dresses & I can only imagine how exciting it was to break the news to your family. What a great Thanksgiving this must've been for you!
I discovered your blog after my husband, Chris, heard you on a fl broadcast. We read your book and also A Grace Disquised and shared it with friends who were grieving the loss of their three month old daughter. Your blog and book helped/helps us to be there for them. Anyway, I just read this update to Chris who smiled broadly...he and Ashley were on a summer project together and he is delighted to know she has five boys! We have three girls and a boy...just like you. Congratulations!

Blessings and prayers!
I too am praying for you, even though you rarely "hear" from me.
Hugs!
We'll be continuing to PRAY!

Although we've never met, I feel like I know you after reading your book. My twin sister is on staff with Crusade and shared it with me after reading it this summer. When I saw that you were having two girls, I just had to write you...my twin sister has always been my best friend and still is (other than my husband)! Congratulations!

Sending love to all!
I found your blog after listening to Family Life and your Dad had mentioned something you posted. I had been following your story so went and searched for your blog. Thanks for so transparently sharing your life!
I'm so excited for you both! We have identical twin boys in our mix of 5 boys and one girl. I wonder if your girls will be identical.
Looking forward to hearing more updates. Praying for you also!!!
I'm SO excited for you and Jake! I've been praying for you and babies A & B. How exciting! I always look forward to seeing the updates on your blog. I thought you might like to see this e-mail I got today (sorry for such a long comment). It's such a good deal! When I saw it, I thought, "Who do I know that's pregnant and would like this?" And I thought of you. I hope you can take advantage of it.
Blessings, Merry Jo Reckeweg

You have been such an inspiration to me since I first found I was pregnant in August. I have had many complications during my pregnancy and listening to your words and your faith in God has helped me to put the care of my unborn child completely in our Father's hands. This baby is going to be my third son. My first son is almost 14, my second is four. God has blessed me with each of my children and I am most thankful to know that he will bless me with this one as well no matter what may happen. Your words helped to come to those convictions. I feel God put you in my path for a reason and I am so thankful for your and your strong spirit. You are truly a woman of God.

Some friends of ours went to a marriage conference a few weekends ago and picked up your book for us. We just lost our son, Noah in July and the grief is still so fresh for us. He was stillborn...it was totally unexpected. We held him and took several pictures of him even though he was already gone. I've also miscarried 3 times (my first pregnancy...twins, then 2 other early miscarriages). We have gone through so many of the same emotions that you expressed in your book. We are so blessed to have one son here on earth named Ethan. He is our little miracle. We hope to have more children some day. I noticed in the book that you were 28 (either at the time of Molly's birth or when the book was written). I, too, was 28 when we lost Noah. Thank you for sharing Molly's story....perhaps she is running and playing with Noah in Heaven.
