Twins are double the fun

So I wanted to update everyone on how things are going and also test something out on my blog. For some reason the dates are messed up and not showing the right date for the post I am adding. It seems to think it's still August 19th. Weird, but hopefully it will be fixed on its own, otherwise I might be asking Jake to do some checking around for me. :) I am not blog savvy, unfortunately. I just know how to write and add new posts and that's all.

We are loving all the prayers and excitement of being pregnant with twins! It is a roller coaster, to be sure, but we are enjoying it every moment of every day! We pray for the babies together at night and especially for Baby A to grow alongside Baby B.

Really, words cannot describe how much fun this is! I am just so grateful for this incredible gift from the Lord. Truly. :) Here's a fun tidbit, because we have an A and a B to refer to, Jacob has decided to give them funny names. :) So... drum roll please.

Baby A is now Astrid.

Baby B is now Bob. :) Fondly named after Jacob's grandpa, Bob Gaiser.

There really are no huge updates except for my next appointment with my OB at 11:30 on the 16th of September. We'll get to see the babes again and do more measuring, checking out Baby Astrid and hearing the heartbeats hopefully.

Also, I've heard that this is common to twin pregnancies but it still makes me nervous. I am experiencing some bleeding which I hear from my brother in law Michael, who is also an OB although not mine, that bleeding is normal and unless I have cramping associated with it, it's likely nothing. So you can be praying that the bleeding truly is nothing and just my uterus doing extra work for the extra life inside. I totally appreciate all the prayers and any mommies of twins, please feel free to let me know any advice you have for me, books to read, etc. I would love it!!

Thanks to everyone and we'll keep you updated as we know more!

just found out last Friday morning at 7:21am that we are also pregnant, after a m/c in 2007. i am ever so thankful to the Lord for this and am taking everyday one day at a time, but praying and hoping for a perfect pregnancy. i go September 15 to find out the due date and if it's twins - for some reason God has put this on my heart and a few others who follow Him...we'll see...

Just got finished reading your book, which was given to me shortly after the death of our fourth child, a daughter, on August 27, 2009. We, too, had to make the decision to remove our baby from a ventilator....definitely the toughest thing I have ever imagined doing in my life.

I truly appreciate you sharing your story...your entire family is such an inspiration. I was so happy to log on today and read the news about your twins. How exciting! Oh, what God has ready for those who love Him! We will pray for a healthy pregnancy which will end in bringing home TWO little bundles of joy!

If you started a post and then saved as a draft, it will then post as the original date when you resume. If you want to change the post's date, go to the lower left hand corner (under where you type) click where it says "Post options" and it will say "post date and time". You can then change that to any day you want. You can even post in the future and when that time comes, it will post automatically. Hope that helps!

Can't believe I'm posting this for all the world to see, but I also had spotting with my twin pregnancy. It was at the very beginning between weeks 6-17 and it happened at least a couple times. My biggest recommendation for you is to drink tons of water and listen to your body. If you are tired, rest. If you need to sit, sit. If you have walked too long, stop. You get the picture. :)
One of my girls was behind the other in weight from the beginning. And, that little gal is still a little bit smaller than her sister! The difference has never been more than a pound, but it was always noticable to my husband and I and their weights/lengths were different at birth and during prenatal ultrasounds. Praying for you often! If you ever have questions, feel free to email me. I love to talk twins! :)
I just listened to your story on a podcast and all I can say is wow. My heart broke and tears flowed. How I was reminded that God has a plan for each one of us.Your story also reminded that I need to Praise our God in the good times and the bad times because He is there in both the good and bad. How your sweet Mighty Molly Ann's story is touching so many lives and will continue to touch lives!

I have to say praise God on the pregnancy of your sweet twins! I too am a mommy of twins and continue to tell myself how blessed I am to have had a good pregnancy health wise, but was pretty uncomfortable the last half. It was all worth it though :) They were born at 4lbs 9oz and 5lbs 4oz and came home with us 4 days later- never spent time in the NICU, which I just felt was a miracle. :) My husband so kindly named our Baby A and Baby B Ducky and Gweedo...:) Thankfully neither of those names stuck... :)As for advice I totally agree with the post before mine- great advice from another mommy of twins!

I will continue to keep you in my prayers...many blessings!

Hi Rebecca,
My husband and I are on staff with Family Life in AR. We connected with your story, early in our marriage our second daughter went to be with Jesus when she was only a month old. To date this is the greatest pain my heart has known, but it has also brought me into an intimacy with God I had never known. I just wanted to let ya know that I will be prayin for little Astrid and Bob! :)

My names for your cousins were Pete
and Re-Pete but your uncle liked Amos and Andy (you may not know who they were, but they are "old-time" comedians). From the beginning they were different sized and weighed in at 37 weeks at 6.8 lbs. and 8.10 lbs. Take one day at a time and find some scripture to run through your mind when you begin to panic from all the tests. Love you!

Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me, bless the Lord.
Oh, I am so happy for you both. And twins. I am crying. I have not met you but have prayed for you since hearing your story. I am so thrilled by God's gift to you of these babies.
Looking forward to watching the blueberries grow!

Ohhhh becca and Jake.....we are praying our guts out that you guys will have a double blessing!!! What a gift from the Lord and what a blessing to know GOD IS IN CONTROL!!! I love the names and we are excited to get more updates as you go along. Deb said for me to tell you Jake that you REALLY named Bob after my Dad that you sprayed up the nose with the hose....EVERY TIME we are up there we relive that scene. Love and hugs...Mark Mc
